Parvez Rasool starred with both bat and ball as J&K outclassed Tripura by 329 runs in the match Ranji Trophy tournament at Agartalla on Wednesday.
Parvez Rasool who had taken 7-wicket haul in first inning went on to claim five wickets as J&K bundled out Tripura for 119 runs in second inning.
J&K on the third day of the play declared its second inning on 306 for the loss of nine wickets, setting a winning target of 448 in front of hosts Tripura.
In its second inning Tripura got bundled out for mere 119 runs in 36.2 overs as Parvez Rasool once again ran through their batting. Having huge target in front of them Tripura batting never looked comfortable in facing J&K bowlers lead by Parvez. J&K skipper brought himself into the attack in eight over and straight away striked to give team first wicket. He bamboozled Tripura top order leaving them trailing on 36 for four in 12 overs.Auquib Nabi bagged fifth wicket for J&K in 13th over and then Parvez completed his second five wicket haul in match by giving J&K sixth wicket in 16th over. From there on Tripura batting never bounced back despite valiant effort from Mura Singh who scored 58. Tripura got all out for 119 runs, handing J&K a huge 329 run win. For J&K Parvez Rasool took five wicket haul while as Aquib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq took two each. Abdul Samad picked one.
Earlier J&K went on to declare their inning on 306 run total for the loss of nine wickets. Shubham Khajuria with 76 run knock was highest scorer for them while as Parvez Rasool and Abdul Samad scored 56 runs each. Suryansh Raina scored 31 and Aquib Nabi 30. For Tripura Mura Singh took six wicket haul while as Rana Dutta took two.
J&K in its first inning had scored 329 runs with Abid Mushtaq scoring 76 not out from 88 deliveries while as Jiyaad Magrey scored 66, Aquib Nabi scored 46 and Shubham Khajuria 40. For Tripura, Mura Singh took four wickets while as Ajoy Sarkar and Harmeet Singh took two each.
In its first inning Tripura got all out for 187 runs, handing J&K a lead of 142. Parvez Rasool was star performer for J&K as he took seven wickets haul in his 18.5 overs. Umar Nazir, Abid Mushtaq and Abdul Samad took one each. For Tripura, Milind Kumar was top scorer with 55 while as Pratyush Singh scored 47.
