Mumbai Indians’ Director of Cricket operations, Zaheer Khan, hinted at Rasikh Salam’s chances in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) while talking in a press-conference on Tuesday.

The former Indian bowling great alongside franchise’s captain, Rohit Sharma held a pre-season press meet today in Mumbai, addressing several queries regarding the IPL 2019.

Zaheer while directing towards Rasikh and Pankaj Jaswal said that Mumbai Indians have always been supportive to youngsters.

“We have identified a couple of players. Rasikh is here. Jaswal has been inducted. The management has always promoted young talent and we’ll continue to do that.” He said.

Rasikh, 17 is the only Jammu and Kashmir-based player taking part in the league this year. The right-arm pacer was picked by the franchise in the auction after he impressing in his maiden outing for J&K in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The pacer has been seen in action as Indians recently started their pre-season camp. He was seen receiving tips for experienced campaigners like Yuvraj Singh. While he also was clicked having a chat with Zaheer Khan.
