Shocking the cricket world in Kashmir, Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday evening handed Rasikh Salam a two-year ban after found guilty of submitting a fake birth certificate.

As the seamer was selected to represent India U19 team, cricket fans in Kashmir questioned the decision and asked was he the only one with a fake birth certificate.

“But he’s not the only one with age fudging .. there are many more ..” Qureshi Furqan, a Facebook user said.

“Lol,we know that he’s not the only one” Milad Lone wrote.

Since JKCA has no proper system to verify age of cricketers, there could be numerous players playing on fake DOB’s. The fans insisted that why only Rasikh became the victim and not others as well.

“Many are playing with fraud ages. Not only in Jammu and Kashmir but in other states too. Delhi and Punjab are in major” Nikhil Sharma, a young cricketer commented.

“Everyone is playing on fraud dob” Meer Farhad, another social media user said.

“You see in the international level of cricket how many players are having this issue but no one banned them nor any type of checking documents shame on Kashmir players who are having hypocritical thinking…” Malik Muda wrote on FB.

“So many sportspersons have DOB problems in whole India but have been supported by officials but in our state especially Kashmir people don’t want to c our young talent to flourish due to jealousy.” Nisar Khan, a former cricketer said.

“Such a shame, but don’t blame the kid. He must have seen many do it and get away with it. 6months back I said, “the boy needed proper guidance and counseling Bt, unfortunately, the kid landed in wrong hands”

Anyone asking questions to those who claimed credit for his success. No. Bcoz success has many fathers and failure is an orphan. 2yrs and bad name. A blooming career as good as over. #Rasikh Anyone enquiring into the role of JKCA in spoiling careers?” Samiullah Beigh, the former veteran cricketer said.

However, some people also welcomed this step by BCCI as it may have cost others a chance to play.

“While I feel for Rasikh, but he is at fault and deserves punishment. Due to this age fudging, many deserved cricket lost the opportunity to play at the highest level. It’s a welcome step and should be followed at every level of cricket and not only for Rasikh.” Yasir Khan remarked.

“For this act, he should be banned by JKCA for life.” Mohammad Amin Khan opined.
