Srinagar, November 28: Playing and being only team from Kashmir in India’s top football league is not small thing and then when you add to that of having to include your local talent to the main squad, it adds lot of pressure. But for Real Kashmir FC it hasn’t been a major problem as from its inception it has focussed on to promote local Kashmir talent by giving them the platform at highest level.

Before the emergence of Real Kashmir FC as I-League team, Kashmir footballers had to look for a place in outside J&K teams to play in I-League. With the exception of Mehraj Ud Din Wadoo and Ishfaq none of the local stars sustained in I-League for longer period.

However that all has changed now with local talent of Kashmir now not to look beyond Kashmir to play at top level. Though Real Kashmir FC can’t include all the local talent due to complexity of playing in professional league, but it has made sure that local talent gets its due recognition. In previous seasons Real Kashmir FC has given chance to talents like Danish Farooq, Farhan Ganie, Shahid, Shahnawaz and others. Amoung them Danish and Farhan have established themselves as the regulars in the Playing-XI. They also had offers from other top clubs of the Country and large part of that credit goes to Real Kashmir FC who gave them platform to show to the World what they have got. Danish and Farhan are today established names in Indian football and can go on to play in Indian Super League or for Indian football team in future.

Going by its idea of boosting local talent, this season Real Kashmir FC has added number of other local stars to it’s first squad of I-League 2020-21 .

Here we are introducing Basit Ahmed Bhat who has been added to the first squad.

Basit is real emerging talent who plays wingback and winger. It has been four months for him to be part of Real Kashmir FC and now has found place in first squad for the I-League.

Basit who belongs to Mehjoor Nagar area of Srinagar has played for Maharaja FC, J&K Bank Academy, J&K Bank, Lone Star FC and Kerala Blasters previously.

Team expects Basit to grab his chance with both hands whenever given opportunity in the middle. It may be the chance and opportunity that Basit would be looking for to make his mark.

(KSW will be highlighting all the local talent of Real Kashmir FC in this special section)
