Citing the broadcasting issues as the reason, All India Football Federation (AIFF) and I-League authorities have denied Real Kashmir FC’s request to defer the next two home I-League matches of club.
The club had recently sent a written request to AIFF and League authorities to defer its two upcoming home matches keeping in view prevalent situation in Kashmir and also stadium capacity concerns. However, the request has been denied.
“The match is on as AIFF and League authorities cited broadcasting issues as the main reason for the denial. They said that as matches are being telecast live on television, Satellite’s have already been booked for the purpose,” said a Real Kashmir FC official.
“Real Kashmir FC will take on Aizawl FC on Wednesday at TRC Turf ground. Aizawl has already arrived in Srinagar and today held training session at the venue,” he said.
Real Kashmir is scheduled to play its next home matches against Aizawl FC and Shillong Lajong FC on December 5 and December 11 before starting away journey in the league.
The only I-League club of Kashmir – Real Kashmir have so far played five matches. They have tasted win in two, suffered two defeats and have been held to draw in one match.
Real Kashmir FC are positioned at seventh place on points table while as Aizawl stand at ninth place at present.
