Ganderbal 26 Oct: while speaking on the first Annual Day function of Physical Education College (PEC) Gadoora, Ganderbal, Minister for IT, TE, Youth Services and sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari, said that the recent nod to the 3000 Rehbar-e-Khel posts, will revolutionize the sports culture of the state. He further stated that Government is committed to provide better sports infrastructure and facilities to the young blood and parental interest towards the participation of their wards in games and sports is a welcome change. While making a mention of the newly built College Campus of the lone College of Physical Education in J&K, he said that the first phase of magnificent campus is being constructed at the cost of Rs.34 crores. He hoped that the newly built college campus will suffice the needs of those students who study Bachelors degree and Masters in the subject of physical education.
Molvi Imran Raza Ansari also inaugurated Hostel facility for the girl students of Physical Education College which was constructed at the cost of Rs.3 crore. He assured the college management that he will take the matter of the second phase of the college campus with the Planning Department.
The online Web Portal for the recently launched Let’s Play Football tournament which is being organized for student and non-student Footballers of all the Districts of the State was also launched by the Minister for Youth Services and Sports.
Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Director for Youth Services and Sports Department, while providing a detailed account of the activities being carried out by the Department, said that the whole Department is thankful to the kind efforts of Minister for Youth services & Sports in materializing the genuine demands of the employees of the Department. He assured him that the field staff of the Department Will leave no stone unturned in channelizing the energy of the young generation in a positive direction.
While providing the details about the online web portal, Fayaz stated that the registration process for the said tournament shall remain open from today on the web portal www.letusplayjk.com and shall close on 6th of Nov, 2017, hence the interested youth should not miss the opportunity.
The maiden addition of the college Magazine “Palaestra” was also released by the Minister for Youth Services & Sports and other dignitaries on this occasion. Research Methodology and Statistics In Physical Education, a book by Dr Hartej Singh, Dr N A Waza and Hilal Ahmed was also released by the dignitaries.
A friendly competition in Tug of War between the young working Journalists of district Ganderbal and Students of Physical College was appreciated and applauded by one and all.
