GDC Sopore defeated GDC Ganderbal in the second semifinal of the inter college cricket trophy being played at Islamia College play field Srinagar on Wednesday.
After winning the toss the GDC Sopore team scored 131 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. For Ganderbal College Aqib Baba and Aqib Manzoor took 2 wickets each.
Chasing a target of 132 runs Ganderbal batsmen fought very hard but fell short of 11 runs of the target. Sameer scored 31 and Wahid 22 runs for their team. Owais Majeed took 3 wicket to earn the man of the match award from the chief guest Prof. Shiekh Aijaz Bashir the Principal of the host college. The tournament which is sponsored by J&K Higher Education Department and organized by the Department of Physical Education the Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar. The final between the host Islamia College and GDC Sopore will now be played on Tuesday the 10th of March.
