A 11-year old students of Presentation Convent Srinagar, Samaara Ali has bagged gold medal in the Gymnastic Championship that concluded at Sheri-Kashmir Indoor stadium, here.Convent Girl (2)

Samaara who is granddaughter of Haji Nazir Ahmed Mir bagged first District Gymnastic Championship while as second in State Gymnastic championship.

Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh was chief guest on the occasion and Samaara received prize from him.

“Gymnastic is mostly popular in Jammu province of State and it is not every day that we see Kashmiri bagging medal in it,” said Nadima Nazir Ali, mother of the medalist.

“Her coach told us that she needs better training, grooming and has got the potential to make it big in gymnastics. We are exploring the options and will look for her training options,” she added.

The event was conducted by J&K State Sports Council for the age groups of Under-14 and 17 years.
