Lidwas nestled at an altitude of 3100 m is a beautiful and a mesmerizing meadow which serves a grazing ground to hundreds and thousands of sheep, goats, and cattle in the summer months. Numerous Dhokas is situated in Lidwas which are home to the Gujjar and Bakarwal brethren, while they come to rear their flocks.
At Lidwas we took a ten-minute rest, and some food and set out to reach the summit. After another hour of traversing the Lidwas meadow, we hit the base of the front face of Mt Mahadev. From here it was a knee-breaking climb of nearly 300 meters to the summit ridge and further to the highest point the ridge, as the snow was mostly loose and went as deep as the legs, making it quite hard and tiring.
