The all-round performance by J&K cricket team helped them to break the 0-6 losing streak as they defeated Rajasthan by 3-wickets in a last over thriller at SSN College Ground, Chennai on October 3. It is their first win out of seven matches in the tournament.jk

Lead by half centuries scored by Shubham Khajuria 57 (61) and Ian Dev Singh 51 (56), J&K managed to overhaul the reduced target 179 runs in 35.3 Overs for the loss of 7 wickets.

The target was reduced from 218 runs to 179 runs for J&K after rain interruption. For 14 overs reduced only 39 runs were cut down. Despite that J&K got off to steady start with openers Ahmad Banday and Shubham Khajuria playing out early overs cautiously. After the fall of Banday at the score of 39 runs, Ian Dev joined Khajuria in the middle and the duo took charge by playing aggressively. Ian Dev got out after scoring 51 runs. In the middle Khajuria was joined by Shubham Pundir and the duo took J&K score past 145 run mark before RD Chahar strike twice to leave J&K on 145/4. Shubham got out after scoring 57 while as Parvez Rasool was trapped LBW for first ball duck.

Paras Sharma got out after scoring 16 while as Mohammad Mudhasir got out after scoring 2. After the fall of Paras , Irfan Pathan joined Fazil Rashid in the middle. The duo held their nerves to take J&K home. In last over J&K needed 3 runs to win which they achieved without any further loss of wickets with 3 balls in spare. Fazil remained not out on 9 and Pathan on 3. For Rajasthan RD Chahar took 3 wickets while as TN Dhillon took 2.

Earlier Waseem Raza and skipper Parvez Rasool were pick of the bowlers as J&K kept Rajasthan to 218 runs in allotted 50 overs.

Irfan Pathan gave brilliant start to J&K by getting rid-off Rajasthan opener in very first over. After that A Tomar and MN Singh formed a 66 run stand to stabilise the inning. With the introduction of spin in attack, J&K were able to break stand as Waseem Raza got the wicket of Abhijeet Tomar in 17th over. Then SF Khan joined MN Singh in the middle and duo started to form a good stand and were able to thwart J&K bowlers. A run out of MN Singh by Fazil Rashid who scored 50 pushed game back again in JK favour. After that wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Debutant Rasikh Salam gave J&K fourth wicket by getting MK Lomar. Waseem Raza then got his second wicket in his last over to reduce Rajasthan to 170 runs. After that Parvez Rasool who was economical throughout the game joined act by getting three back to back wickets for J&K. He removed SF Khan on 60 and also missed his hattrick. Then bowling last over he got his third wicket of inning. Rajasthan finished their inning on 218 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. SF Khan scored 60 while as MN Singh scored 50.

For J&K Parvez Rasool took three wickets while as Waseem Raza took two. Irfan Pathan and Rasikh Salam took one each.
