Srinagar, July 24: Ever since the emergence of Babar Azam into the scene there have been constant comparisons of him with India captain Virat Kohli.
Now the star India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said that comparing Babar with Virat will be putting pressure on Pakistan batsman.
Speaking to Cricingif, Ashwin said he really enjoys while watching Babar bat and he is an outstanding cricketer overall.
“I really enjoy Babar Azam’s batting. I watched the century he scored in Australia,” Ashwin revealed.
He said thya comparison with Virat isn’t way to deal with rising star and it can extra pressure on Babar.
“Comparisons with Virat Kohli will put pressure on him, which is unfair. Kohli is one of the finest cricketers the world has produced. I am sure Babar’s time will come too,” Ashwin.
Babar was recently been appointed captain for Pakistan white-ball formats. He has represented Pakistan in 26 Tests, 74 ODIs and 38 T20Is. The right-handed batsman is number one in T20Is, number third in ODIs, and number sixth in red-ball cricket.
