The star cricketer of J&K State who has represented India Parvez Rasool termed the questions raised by some former cricketers on the working of former Team India All-rounder with J&K Cricket Association (JKCA) as childish and said they sane logic.
It is irony that those who has done nothing for J&K Cricket are questioning the working of Irfan Pathan who did so much for J&K Cricket and cricketers last year.
“Irfan Pathan is a name in the international arena. He has represented the country at international level and everyone in cricket circles known him. JKCA roped him to mentor and train J&K cricketers last year. Those who themselves have average of only five or 17 after playing in 40 first class matches are questioning Irfan Pathan’s ability and experience.“
“Irfan Pathan has many avenues to earn money like being expert on television, yet he chose to come to Kashmir,” he said.
He said that Irfan had option to just sit and enjoy working with only senior team for limited time but he then chose to unearth talent and also work with junior cricketers.
“The previous coaches who were roped in for huge some of money used to join teams only one day before and did nothing valuable. This guy came to Kashmir four months in advance, stayed here, went to far flung areas. He not only trained senior cricketers but juniors as well and what he did in those four months is more than what those previous coaches did in years and our own senior cricketers have ever done,” Parvez said.
