A day after Greater Kashmir carried report about talented Kashmir mountaineer girl Nahida Manzoor starting online crowd funding campaign to generate funds for scaling world’s highest peak Mount Everest, a well known corporate house of the state, Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd. has come forward to support her in achieving her dream.

With an eye on scaling World’s highest peak Mount Everest, the young trained female mountaineer of Kashmir Nahida Manzoor started online crowd funding campaign to achieve her dream through website www.ketto.org.

Trumboo Industries comes forward to support Nahida’s Mt. Everest quest scale the Everest during 2019 season, Nahida needs around Rs 30 lakhs and the deadline for generating funds is April 15. As the news about her dream campaign got highlighted in Greater Kashmir, Nahida is getting lot of queries from corporate houses as well as media to cover her journey.

However, the biggest and practical support so far has come from one of the biggest corporate houses of J&K, Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd.

Trumboo Industries Pvt. Ltd has assured Nahida Manzoor of atleast Rs 10 lakhs in support for her dream journey.

“We will support her initially with Rs 7.5 lakhs and upon her return from Everest will provide another Rs 2.5 lakhs as award for her accomplishment,” said Executive Director Trumboo Group, Waseem Trumboo.

“It is least that we could do to help this courageous talented girl to realize her dream. To set your goal to scale Mount Everest is not a small thing and needs lot of courage, dedication and ability. We hope she goes on to climb the peak and make us proud,” he said.

Nahida Manzoor has thanked Trumboo Industries for the support and said that it was unexpected to get such a big sponsor.

“Before the news about my campaign for raising funds was carried by Greater Kashmir I had gone to various persons for the support. But none helped. Today I have got lot of calls for the support and among them the practical one and biggest one is the support assurance that I got from Trumboo Industries,” she said.

“With their support my dream journey has finally kick-started. There is still lot to do but to get such a big support was unexpected and I am really thankful to them,” she said.

Mount Everest, at 8,848 metres (29,029 ft) is the world’s highest mountain and a particularly desirable peak for mountaineers. Apart from technical hazards and physical ability, it is the cost of scaling mountain that discourages many from attempting. The typical cost when climbing the Everest with a Western agency is $45,000 and above. With a local Nepali operator it can be between $25,000 and $40,000. The cost includes the permit fee of $11,000 for the peak.

Twenty three year old Nahida Manzoor is a trained mountaineer having completed all mountaineering courses. She has so far scaled Mount Deo Tibba-Manali with a height of 6001 meters and also Friendship Peak of Himachal Pradesh with a height of 5289 meters. In Kashmir she has scaled Mount Mahadev and Mount Tatakooti.
