The all-round performance by Akash Choudhary and solid batting display from Auqib Nabi and Fazil Rashid lead J&K to last over thrilling victory against Mumbai in the pre-quarterfinal match of the Under-23 One League match at Kanpur on Sunday.
J&K late order showed tremendous resilience as they achieved the huge total of 298 runs in 49.5 overs fir the loss of nine wickets. In last over J&K were in need of 12 runs with two wickets in hand. Auqib Nabi got out on first ball . Akash maintained composure and brought J&K home with one ball to spare.
Akash remained not out on 36 off 30 balls while as Auqib Nabi scored 61 off 37. Fazil Rashid scored 56 off 65 while as Banday scored 38, Munaf 34 and Khajuria 30 as J&K chased down 297 runs target.
Earlier batting first Mumbai posted 297 runs on board for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted overs. Akash Choudhary took three wickets for J&K while as Moomin and Paras Sharma took one each. For Mumbai, AA Sardesai scored 145 runs and Sidharth Akre 72.
With this win J&K cruised into quarterfinal of the event.
