The Under-23 shortlisted players have been left stranded in Jammu as JKCA is yet to arrange the accommodation for them.
The trials to select team for U-23 One-day tourney began from January 23rd and players are since arranging accommodation and food on their own, which has lately left them with no money in Jammu.
Earlier, when players reported the matter to JKCA officials, they were told that accomodation will be arranged as soon as the shortlist is announced. However, it has been nearly a week since but nothing has happened as of yet.
The BCCI-backed association seems to have no money despite having received crores from the cash-rich Indian cricket board.
“We are simply been treated like unpaid labourers. They invite us for trials and then leave us on roads,” a player told KSW.
“If JKCA has no money, then they should simply quit on doing these things. We have been here for nearly three weeks and how difficult it is to arrange everything on our own doesn’t need to be defined,” another player said.
It’s a matter of high concern as players seem to be in chaos and have already affected their game inside the ground as well.
Reportedly, JKCA had also not given any refreshment to players during the first trial match. Though after players protested, they were given the meals in the second match.
Meanwhile, KSW tried to reach JKCA CEO to know more about the matter, however, like most of the times, he didn’t respond despite several tries.
