Srinagar, April 20: Pakistani former stalwart Mohammad Yousuf Sunday termed Virat Kohli as current number one batsman while predicted Babar Azam could go on to become best in the world.

Yousuf stated if Pakistan’s batting spearhead continues to play as he is currently, he can be at the top in the years to come.

“There is no doubt that Virat Kohli is the number one player in the world but if Babar Azam continues to improve, he will also go on to become the best player in the world,” quoted Yousuf as saying.

The former right-handed batsman said he was unsure if Babar has the potential to do well in the longer-version of game, however, with scintillating performance in Australia recently, Yousuf believes he can go long way.

“I had my reservations about Babar’s performance in Test cricket before the Australia tour, but he did really well there and is now scoring hundreds regularly in the longest format of the game,” he said.
