India captain Virat Kohli shared a laugh with legendary Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist during a training net sessions at Gabba, in Brisbane on Monday. In images shared on the official Twitter handle of BCCI, the 30-year-old was seen laughing along with the former Aussie great during the training session.
Shikhar Dhawan and other Indian batsmen, along with Krunal Pandya were also seen having a practice with the willow at Gabba. In the tweet, the BCCI wrote: “Another day, another drill – Snapshots from #TeamIndia’s practice session as they build up to the big game against Australia at The Gabba.”
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah showed off his skills with the bat at the training session as he went “hammer and tongs” with the bat at the nets.
India will play the first T20I against Australia at Gabba on Wednesday. The two teams will play 3 T20Is, 4 Tests and 3 ODIs. Ahead of the start of the series, vice-captain Rohit Sharma spoke to reporters and stressed the importance of the tour. “It’s the one place that we want to leave our mark and do well as a unit. The last time we played Test series here _ although we lost two games and we drew one game _ I thought there were a few close games being played,” he told reporters on Monday.
