Srinagar: Former Pakistan Test captain legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram is in shock that Pakistan Cricket members are still being served Biryani as their preferred diet.
For the unprofessional behavior and attitude Akram has slammed Pakistan cricket team for eating biryani ahead of the World Cup starting on May 30.
Wasim feels the Pakistan players are not concerned about their diet and are eating junk food before a crucial tournament.
It is known fact and everyone has seen Pakistan cricketers often attending parties where they are feasted with all kinds of meals, including biryani — a widely popular Pakistani dish of spicy rice mixed with beef, mutton or chicken.
“[Our] players are still being served biryani, you cannot compete against champions by feeding them biryani,” Akram was quoted as saying by Pakistan journalist Sajad of Pak Passion.
The former pacer turned commentator also backed Mohammad Amir in Pakistan for the World Cup.
Pakistan opens their 10-team World Cup campaign with the match against West Indies on May 31 at Nottingham.
“This year’s World Cup is the same format as it was at the 1992 World Cup. You cannot win this World Cup with a fluke, you will have to play well to win it,” Akram said
