Srinagar, June 6: A day after National and International Footballers Forum (NIFF) issued a statement that a private club has recieved Rupees 15 lakhs from J&K Football Association (JKFA) , J&K’s first second division I-League club Lone Star Kashmir FC has hit back and said that it recieved money from J&K State Sports Council through JKFA.

Lone Star Kashmir FC in this regard has issued statement on its official Facebook page.

“Lone Star Kashmir FC is the first ever professional i-league club of the state. Since it’s inception has been working towards development of football in J&K in affiliation to JKFA. We are today forced to come out and give a statement against some group of so called NIFF’s statement involving a private club with is favoured by JKFA and being given Rs 15 Lakhs by the same, ” Lone Star statement reads.

In the statement club has asked NIFF to be clear about the private club who got money from JKFA.

“We would like to know from the said group who is this private club they are pointing to, which is not clear to the whole football fraternity of J&K. If the private club is Lone Star then we would like to reply, ” It said.

In the statement Club has made it clear that it recieved money from Sports Council through JKFA.

“We have received the said amount from JKSSC through JKFA. It was JKSSC who had approved the funding towards I-league clubs including Real Kashmir and Jammu United as well. Over the years Lone Star has spent crores of rupees towards the cause of football development in J&K from own pockets, whereas other clubs including Real Kashmir & SFA have received crores in government funding. The club in its statement has thanked JKFA for the support in difficult times.

“We are thankful to JKFA without whom it was difficult to develop the game of football in J&K. Lone Star has been in the forefront when it comes to giving a national platform to local players, many of whom have made careers in big clubs and have been employed with various departments of J&K.We have full faith in JKFA and stand by them, ” Statement added.
