Pakistan defeated South Africa by 49 runs to keep their World Cup 2019 semifinal hopes alive. After formidable batting display, Pakistan bowlers made sure to finish the match well.

Here are the highlights of the match:

Haris Sohail hitting it big and bright

After missing out the earlier matches, Haris Sohail was finally brought back into the playing XI. The southpaw made sure to make a mark and prove his mettle after not doing well in the only match he played in the World Cup. Pakistan, unlike the last match, found a good start, however, it lost a few quick wickets in the middle.

Haris though completely changed the scenario of the game. The left-handed batsman straightaway started playing shots, putting the pressure back on Protea bowlers. He continued the flow, scoring a fiery knock of 89 runs in 59 balls to steer Pakistan to 308 runs total.

Bowlers keeping it tight

After not doing well in the last some matches, the leg-spinner, Shadab Khan finally picked some scalps for Men in Green. He bowled at the right lengths, owing to which he found success.

He ran through South African middle-order, scalping three wickets after Mohammad Amir took a brace up front. Lastly, it was Wahab Riaz who rattled the tail, handing Pakistan second win of the World Cup.
