WrestleMania is the place where we see a rare appearance from The Undertaker. For years, Undertaker only wrestled one match in a year and that was at the “grandest stage of them all.” He even compiled a 21-0 record at WrestleMania which was broken by Brock Lesnar in 2014. He has since won 3 and lost once at Mania with his only loss coming to Roman Reigns. It was thought that The Undertaker had retired after the match against Reigns but he made his return last year.
In 2018, Undertaker wrestled four matches. However, his performances have been criticised by a lot of fans and pundits as he has seemingly lost a step. The future of The Undertaker has been speculated for a long time and he has not been seen on television after wrestling against DX at Crown Jewel.
Many reports have stated that the legendary Undertaker could be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year but nothing concrete has come to light. No plans look to be in place for the “Phenom” as all the major storylines for WrestleMania are already tied up.
Now it could become a reality that The Undertaker could miss a WrestleMania in nearly two decades if Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio is to be believed.
“They have a top of the card lined up, not the whole card, but they got the top of the card done and he’s not in that. That doesn’t mean that he can’t be added. So I mean as far as the rumors, I can’t imagine The Undertaker in a nothing match. I think he’s either in a big match or he’s not there at all and right now he’s not in a big match,” said Meltzer
“Can that change next week? Of course, it can so I would say it’s up in the air. You can say that there are no plans I can say as of four or five days ago he’s not listed for the card.”
The Undertaker missing a WrestleMania is something which could happen in 2019 but it would still send shockwaves around the WWE Universe around the future of the wrestling legend. But is this the year The Undertaker finally hangs up his boots? We could possibly get the answer in a few weeks.
