Soon after Royal Challengers Bangalore ended its campaign in Indian Premier League (IPL) -2019 on another disappointing note, the former South African great Herschelle Gibbs had a proposition for Virat Kohli’s side next season.
Gibbs offered to become the coach of RCB after they played their last IPL game of the season against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday, May 4.
It was on the back of Shimton Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh Mann, RCB beat SRH to end their season on a high in front of a packed house at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Following the win, the official handle of RCB thanked the fans for their support despite the team finishing in the bottom half of the table.
“Chinnaswamy & Bengaluru: THANK YOU. You Challengers give us goosebumps. Neev illa andhre, naavu yenu alla. Without you guys, we’re nothing,” RCB Twitter handle Tweeted.
“If you guys need a coach, I am available,” Gibbs replied to the Tweet. This tweet was later deleted by the former South Africa opener.
To his reply one of the Twitter user wrote: “They don’t need one more south African surely.”
On that Gibbs reply was: “Well they’ve tried every other one haven’t they.”
