Secretary Sports Council Dr Naseem Javaid Chowdhary has revealed that during the lockdown period when activities were banned, sports council held online training sessions in which around 10 lakh players from all over J&K took part in different sports activities.

“As sports activities were banned, sports council initiated a process of online training through different apps. During these training sessions, trainers imparted training online and also interacted with players. Around 10-lakh players in different sports disciplines from all over J&K participated in such sessions,” he was quoted by local online news channel Young Bites said.

He said that due to ongoing pandemic infrastructure development has also come to halt in J&K and Sports Council is reviewing the process of restarting the work.

“The pandemic has brought all the developmental work to complete halt across the World and J&K is no exception. We are reviewing the process of resuming the work and will gradually start it,” he added.
