Local11th Yousuf memorial cricket cup inaugurated at Islamia College  

The 11th Yousuf Memorial Cricket Cup was inaugurated at Islamia College playing field on Wednesday  with Govt Degree College Baramulla defeating  Government Degree College Tral by 140 runs in the opening match.20170906_100636

After winning the toss Baramulla captain decided to bat first scoring 217 runs in allotted 35 overs for the loss of 8-wickets. Rahi Bashir was the top scorer with 81 runs in 52 deliveries and Tajamul Islam 37 in 39. For GDC Tral Zahid Khalid took 4 wickets and Asif took 3.

Chasing a target of 213 runs, GDC Tral were bundled out for 78 runs in 18 overs. Usaib was only notable scorer with 19 runs. For GDC Baramulla Yawar Bashir took 3 wickets. Earlier Prof. Muzaffar Ahmed Khan the principal of the college declared the tournament open. He was introduced to the players of the visiting teams.

Tomorrow GDC Ganderbal is to play against GDC Pulwama. The tournament is being organized by the department of Physical Education Islamia College Srinagar.
