Baramulla: Jehangir Lone knock of 54 and Umar Kakroo’s 23 ball 47 runs for Sheripora-XI went in vain as Star Sports Palhallan beats Sheripora-XI by 24 runs in a high voltage game of second semi final of 14th SNW cricket tournament in front of Jam packed crowd here at SNW ground Chanderhama Pattan.
Sheripora-XI Skipper after winning the toss invited Star Sports Palhallan to bat first.Star Sports Palhallan started the innings on a bad note as they lost 2 wickets early in the form of Gulzar (5) and Mehraj on a Golden duck. Altaf joined Muneer in the middle .Both the players had a catious approach as Star sports palhallan got their 50 in the 10th over.Muneer was given an early life when he was droped by Jehangir Lone in the slips.Star Sports Palhallan lost Altaf for 20 runs .Sheripora-XI bowlers found it hard to get the wicket of Muneer early. Muneer Played a superb knock of 64 runs and set a target of 156 runs on board for Sheripora-XI.
In reply Jehangir Lone knock of 54 and Umar Kakroo’s quick fire 47 runs went in vain and Sheripora-XI lost the semi final by 24 runs.Tariq took 3 wickets while Umar and Altaf took 2 wickets each for Star sports Palhallan.
Muneer was declared man of the match for his superlative innings of 64 runs and award was presented by Zeeshan Pervaiz President Of Affarwat-XI Cricket Club.
