Srinagar: The two-day open Carrom Championship organized by Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association concluded at Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Hawal, Srinagar on Thursday.

The two day competition held in old city of Srinagar saw around 122 matches being played in various age groups and categories. The organizers had received around 130 entries for the event from all over Kashmir in sub-junior, junior and senior categories of both boys and girls section.

General Secretary of the Association Adil Rashid Shah, thanked Principal Islamia College for providing space for this tournament and also thanked all the players and officials of this tournament.  He said that aim of organising this event was to provide a platform to the interested players to showcase their talent.

At the concluding function former member J&K Sports Council Rauf Tramboo, Director Sports Islamia College Altaf ur Rehman, President J&K Carrom Association Mudasir Khan, General Secretary J&K Carrom Association Adil Rashid Shah, Treasurer J&K Carrom Association Sheikh Saqib, member Dawar Rashid, Physical teacher Govt Hr Sec Institute Khanyar Nayeema and Arif Sultan Organising Secretary of the two days open Carrom Championship were present.

In senior men category, Furkan Nazir bagged first place while as Adnan Yaseen and Aijaz Ahmad bagged second and third positions respectively.

In senior womens category, Aqsa Jan bagged first place while as Fiza Yousuf and Sharika Majeed bagged second and third positions respectively.

In junior boy’s category, Mursal Aiyan bagged first place while as Aman Khan and Sheikh Saim bagged second and third.

Ridha Madni bagged first place in junior girls category while as Hadiya Manzoor and Sehar bagged second and third positions respectively.

In cadet boy’s category, Arhan Khan bagged first position while as Md Ajwad and Ilyan Bilal bagged second and third places respectively.

In cadet girl’s category, Hazika Manzoor bagged first position while as Sumiya and Dua Jan bagged second and third positions respectively.
