International Cricket Council (ICC) is investigating three Sri Lankan cricketers for their role in cricket corruption for match fixing charges. This was revealed by Sri Lanka Sports Minister Dullas Alahapperuma on Wednesday.
Alahapperuma did not mention if they were former or current players. “We are sorry to see that sports had fallen short of discipline and character,” he said.
However, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said in a statement that no current players were involved in the ICC investigation.
“What the honorable minister actually mentioned was about an investigation launched by the ICC Anti-Corruption Unit against three former Sri Lanka players and not the current national players.”
The ICC have said it would not comment on any active investigation.
