It was second such International level course conducted by the Association Gulmarg in order to train locals about the Avalanche safety.
“It was level two courses as we had successfully participated in level one course last year. For the skiers and the ski trainer’s knowledge of avalanche safety and skills is must and it can prove a difference between life and death during crucial junctures. We in Kashmir lack this kind of knowledge and it is eye opener course for trainee like me,” said Feroz.
Another participant Mehraj said that in Kashmir there is need for such type of life saving courses and local should take initiative in that.
“We saw Association organizing it and saw an opportunity to learn life saving skills during crucial situations. Lot of people in Kashmir knows about skiing and snowboarding but few are aware about these life saving skill set,” Mehraj said.
