The two Kashmiri girls and two Jammu boys have been selected for the World School Games scheduled to be held in Delhi in July.

The Taekwon-do martial art players who won medals previously at National level participated in selection trials conducted by School Games Federation of India at Tyagraj Stadium, Delhi. They qualified the trials by securing second place in their respective categories.

In trials Aryan Gupta (District Jammu) secured second place in 45-kilogram category while as Ajay Kumar (District Jammu) secured second place in 51-Kg.  Afreen Hyder (District Srinagar) secured place in 59-Kg category and Shah Barrera Fatima (District Srinagar) secured 2nd place in 68-kg category.World games JK players

It will be first time that International School Games Federation would be conducting Taekwondo event. The four players have been selected for national camp that is going to be held before World Games.

J&K Taekwon-do Association has requested Secretary J&K State Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra and Director Youth Services & Sports Fayaz Sheikh for the support to these young players and provides them better facilities so that they will win more medals for State.

The team had taken part in trials under the coach Atul Pangrotra.
