Srinagar, December 19: In another display of wasting too many chances and lacking the quality to finish, Downtown Heroes FC were held to 1-1 draw by AG’s Office XI in a match of Premier League J&K at Synthetic Turf TRC ground Srinagar on Saturday.

The first match of the day in Premier League was played between Downtown Heroes FC and Ag’s XI. Both the teams played with offensive football trying to create openings and striking at each other’s goals but no one was able to score in the first half.

In second half, experienced star footballer Shahanawaz Bashir gave his side AG’s XI lead by scoring first goal of the match in 50th minute.

It saw Downtown Heroes FC pushing for the equaliser. They came close to score one back but failed to convert those into goals. In 69th minute they finally were able to convert one and score much needed equaliser. After that they got couple of more chances but were unable to convert them into goal. Match ended with 1-1 draw.

In the whole tournament Downtown Heroes have been seen creating chances but lacking quality to convert them into goal. Their forwards have wasted too many chances and that has hurt them badly in the league.

Meanwhile in the second match of the day, J&K Bank FC beat Arco FC by 1-0 to storm into second round with unbeaten record.

The tournament is organized by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with J&K Football Association.
