Keeping his political differences aside while acknowledging the contribution of former Chief Minister and his political rival Dr Farooq Abdullah, Minister for Education Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Friday said that Dr Abdullah is the man who made golf everyone’s game in J&K.
“Without any hesitation I am saying that if we have got Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) today, it is all because of Dr Farooq Abdullah. He faced opposition but he did not budge to that and went ahead with his vision and plan. Today people from every walk of life are praising him for giving us gift like RSGC,” Bukhari said.
Bukhari said this during inauguration ceremony of the Junior Golf Coaching camp at RSGC here on Friday.
“By giving State a magnificent course like RSGC, Dr. Farooq Abdullah made golf everyone’s game in J&K. It started golf trend in J&K and today we have got courses all over State. Today people from different parts of World are coming to Kashmir to play golf and even locals have got plenty of interest in this activity. All that credit goes to Dr. Farooq,” he said. ( Courtesy GK)
