LocalAmid rising cases of COVID-19 in Kashmir, Sindh Valley football tourney suspended

Srinagar, July 12: With the steep increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Kashmir questions are being raised on the number of sports tournaments that are coming up all over Valley.

Amid this on the request if Ganderbal Police lead by SO Ganderbal and local SHO, organisers of Sindh Valley Football tournament Shallabugh have suspended the tournament with immediate effect.

” We are suspending the tournament on request of Ganderbal Police as COVID-19 cases are rising and it is not feasible to hold such events, ” Said organisers Hilal Ahmed and Mushtaq Ahmed.

In Red Zones no sporting event is allowed but still events are taking place with all rules being floated. In green zones activities are allowed but without gatherings but even there no SOP is being followed this putting lives in risk. Even Sports Council has expressed its concern over such events .
