Srinagar, Aug 26: Pakistan skipper Azhar Ali has said that he is satisfied with the performance of Pakistan team during Test series despite team losing series to England by 1-0 .

He said this while speaking to reporters after losing three matches Test series.

“We played good cricket throughout, this is what we heard from our team management and other people here. There are a lot of positives besides a few negatives but our focus is to go ahead with our strong points and learn from our mistakes,” said Azhar.

Azhar Ali said England tour has always been tough for an Asian side and batsmen usually suffer here.

“Conditions here are tough, nevertheless we played good cricket throughout. We outplayed England on first three days of the opening Test but lost our grip in last few sessions. We have learnt a lot from this tour and will try to overcome our weaknesses in upcoming tours,” he said.

“I worked really hard to gain my form back. You face criticism when you don’t perform but a single performance gives you a lot of confidence. I changed my stance a little bit and it worked for me,” Azhar said while talking about his own performance.

To query about overrating Babar Azam and Naseem Shah for the series, the skipper said both of them fought well and learned a lot from this tour.

“Babar batted quite well considering tough batting conditions. He scored two fifties but couldn’t manage to convert it into big scores,” he said.

“As far as Naseem is concerned, he is young and still learning. However, he bowled well but didn’t get wickets. I hope he will learn from his mistakes and come up strongly,” he concluded.
