Srinagar, Sep 2: Pakistan star batsman Babar Azam may not have set the stage on fire during recently concluded Test series between Pakistan and England in England but he has earned the respect and praise from the England star and legendary pacer James Anderson.
Babar as per his own standards had quite series against England and failed to score a century despite getting starts.
Anderson, who recently became the first pacer to take 600 wickets in Test cricket, said that he loves to watch Babar Azam’s batting but doesn’t like to bowl against him as he makes him feel slow as a bowler.
“I do love watching Babar Azam. I prefer watching him from up here rather than bowling at him. He makes you feel slow as a bowler – and as a medium-pace bowler like myself, it is not ideal,” Anderson was quoted as saying by BBC Test Match Special.
The 38-year-old Anderson dismissed the 25-year-old Babar on two occasions during the Test series. Currently Babar Azam is the only batsman to feature in the top five in ICC batting rankings of all three formats.
