Srinagar, August 14: Former England captain, Nasser Hussain, Friday remarked that Pakistan’s current batting epitome, Babar Azam, should be playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Complimenting the young batter, Nasser said a talent like him needs to be playing world’s best T20 league.
The renowned voice in world cricket also wished for India-Pakistan cricket rivalry to restart.
“I don’t want to get into the politics of it but India and Pakistan not playing each other are like the Premier League with Manchester City not playing Manchester United, or Everton-Liverpool or Spurs and Arsenal”, He told Geo Super.
Nasser said with IPL starting soon, Babar not being there isn’t an ideal thing.
“It’s the Pakistani players not being in the IPL. The IPL will start soon and Babar Azam won’t be there. He’s a phenomenal player and he should be there,” He commented.
Pakistan players appeared in the very first edition of IPL, back in 2008. However, since then due to several reasons, they weren’t allowed to play this cash-rich league.
