Bandipora, November 27: A storming 49-ball unbeaten hundred by Ishtiyaq Robby on Saturday knocked down Rising Star in the final of Bandipora Cup at SK Stadium, here.
Earlier, batting first, a spirited Rising Star came out to bat with a lot of fire. Mudasir Dar looked in his usual touch: hitting everything that’s bowled in the slot. However, regular wickets in the middle sank their boat before it could speed up further.
They could only make 145 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Mudasir was the willow-wielder, making 32-ball 53 runs. Skipper Hilal also scored 30 runs. For BCC, Raja Saleem and Asif picked two wickets each.
In reply, Ishtiyaq Robby came out with a clear intent: to finish it as early as possible. The tall lad smashed Rising Star bowlers all-round the park. He hit as many as 7 maximums and 10 fours in his 49-ball stay at the crease.
The swashbuckler finished with 100 runs under his belt, taking BCC home with 10 wickets in hand and 7.5 overs to spare. He was well-supported by Raja Saleem who struck 24-ball 44 runs.
