Bangladesh Cricket have named 15-man squad for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 on Tuesday, April 16 with majority of core senior players retained.

Although there are number of new faces including uncapped pace bowler Abu Jayed who has been given nod for the cricket World Cup.

Abu Jayed, 25, made his Test debut last year and has played three T20s for Bangladesh, but is yet to take part in a 50-over international.

Jayed’s inclusion comes at the expense of fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, who had missed the New Zealand tour with an ankle injury. Ahmed also doesn’t feature in the 17-member squad that has been announced for the tri-series against Ireland and West Indies that takes place before the World Cup.

Batsman Mosaddek Hossain, who last played for Bangladesh at the Asian Cup in September, was also recalled for the World Cup in England and Wales starting next month.

“Since the World Cup will be held in difficult (unfamiliar) conditions in the UK we wanted to value the experience of our players,” reports quoted chief selector Minhajul Abedin as saying.
