Srinagar, September 10: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Thursday asked state associations to send a list of U-16 and U-19 players who are eligible to participate in national tournaments before September 21.

A mail sent by Saba Karim, BCCI General Manager, accessed by TOI, has ddirected all the state units to verify documents of players and send them a list of eligible players.

“This is with regard to the eligibility criteria applicable to the players participating in the boys under-16 and under-19 BCCI tournaments.

“You’re requested to go through the birth certificates and TW3bone age reports of all the players registered by your association in the under-16 and under-19 age group tournaments and send us on or before September 21, 2020, a list of players who are eligible to participate in these tournaments as per the revised BCCI rules. Once we receive the list from your association, we will verify their documents and TW3 bone age reports in our records and let you know if there are any discrepancies. This is for your information, necessary action and records.” The mail read.

“Kindly note that all the players who’re already registered with the BCCI during previous seasons will be allowed to participate in the aforesaid tournaments, henceforth, only if they fulfill the rules elucidated vice our letter on July 31 (which mentioned about the Voluntary Disclosure Schemes for registered players to catch age fraud and no guest players being allowed for age group teams),” It further said.
