Srinagar, April 1: Goverment College for Women, M A Road, Srinagar organized Inter-College Road Race for Women 2022 on Friday from Nehru Park to Nishat garden.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Nasreen Aman flagged off the race at 6:30 AM. Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. (Dr.) Qayyum Husain was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Benazir Fatima of GCW M.A. Road won the race while the second place was secured by Sayima (GCW M.A. Road) and third place by Seerat Jan (IASE).
The prize distribution ceremony function was held inside Nishat garden. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Qayyum hailed the GCW M.A. Road for organizing such events on regular basis. He congratulated the students who participated in the race and encouraged them to take part in such sports activities in future as well.
Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Nasreen Aman also acknowledged the efforts of the physical education department of the college, led by Physical Director, J.S. Mehta, for framing and following the activities listed under the sports calendar. She also congratulated the students for taking active parts in sports activities.
Sports Secretary, Cluster University Srinagar, Prof. Tariq Ashai was also present on the occasion besides members of college sports committee and support staff.
