In a major development that is going to be big news for the International cricket circuit, Lahore Qalandar’s have roped in former Pakistan captain and Spot-Fixing involved cricketer Salman Butt as the replacement for Mohammad Hafeez in the Pakistan Super League season 2019.

It will be first time after his return in 2016 from his five-year suspension for his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal of 2010 that Butt would be playing in any high profile T20 league.

He will be playing under the captainship of AB de Villiers who was handed the captaincy by Lahore Qalandars after Mohammad Hafeez fractured his thumb.

Despite being constant since returning from ban in domestic cricket Salman Butt has been overlooked for the national Pakistan senior team inclusion as well as in PSL. If everything goes smoothly then there is hope that Mohammad Asif another Spot-Fixing involved cricketer banned for the saga will also find his way back into the some of sort of high profile cricket.

Mohammad Asif had recently lashed out at Pakistan Cricket Board for double standards, indirectly pointing to Mohammad Amir’s selection in national side.

The trio of Butt, Asif and Amir were banned for their involvement in 2010 Spot Fixing in England. They also served jail term in England for the crime.
