Srinagar, March 7: DFA Anantnag and DFA Srinagar won their respective matches in the ongoing 29th Annual football championship at Synthetic Turf TRC Ground Srinagar on Monday.
The first match of the day was played between DFA Anantnag and DFA Ganderbal. Both teams played exhibited Football and the full time ended in a goalless draw. The winner was decided by enforcing tiebreaker rule in which DFA Anantnag defeated DFA Ganderbal by four goals to One.
In the 2nd match DFA Srinagar and DFA Budgam locked horns with each other. In the beginning DFA Srinagar dominated for some time and scored a beautiful goal through Ayyan. DFA Budgam consolidated their position and took advantage of a counter attack and equalized the score through Mohamad Yaseen. Both the teams struggled hard to take the lead but couldn’t find the net till the final whistle was blown. The tiebreaker rule was enforced to decide the winner DFA Budgam defeated DFA Srinagar by 4 goals to two.
DFA Anantnag & DFA Budgam are the other two teams who have qualified for the Final Phase.
