Srinagar, March 30: Middle-order batsman Pukhraj Mann slammed unbeaten century, while opening batsman Vishwa Pratap Singh scored brilliant 87 runs to guide Punjab to 309/2 and put their side in command against Jammu Kashmir in the multi-day Under-25 Boys CK Nayudu Trophy at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, New Delhi on Wednesday.


Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 302/7, J&K managed to score 320 in their first innings. Musaif Ajaz, who scored century yesterday was the top scorer with 112 runs off 185 balls, studded with 18 boundaries, while overnight unbeaten batsman, Sahil Lotra added 9 more to score 62 runs off 115 ball with 9 boundaries.


For Punjab, Gurnoor Brar and Aryaman Dhaliwal took 3 wickets each, while Lovedeep Kharoud, Abhinav Sharma and Sanvir Singh claimed one wicket each.


In reply, Punjab rode on Pukhraj’s unbeaten 146 runs off 218 balls, studded with 18 fours and 4 sixes to score 309 runs in 73 overs. Vishwa Pratap also contributed 87 runs off 143 balls with 12 fours and 2 sixes, while Sanvir Singh was unbeaten on 62 runs, studded with 10 fours and 2 sixes.


For J&K, medium pacer Lone Nasir Muzaffar was the only successful bowler, who took both the Punjab wickets to fall.

Now, with two days play left in the match, Punjab are in a commanding position, just 11 runs behind J&K’s first innings score with 8 wickets in hand.
