Srinagar, March 23: Jammu and Kashmir were 121/3 in their first innings against Bengal’s huge total of 507 runs on Day-2 (Wednesday), thus trailing by 386 runs with 7 wickets in hand in the ongoing Col CK Nayudu Trophy (U-25) match at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, New Delhi.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 331/4, Bengal lost three quick wickets including both the overnight batsmen namely skipper Kazi Junaid Saifi without adding to her overnight score of 64 runs and wicketkeeper Abishek Porel after adding just 4 runs at 45 runs.
Then Pradipta Pramanik was dismissed for (0) to make it 339/7 in 92.1 overs. However, lower-order in Kaushik Maity (76), Arka Sarkar (45) and Mohammad Kaif (34) guided the team to a big total of 507 runs.
For J&K, medium pacer Auqib Nabi bagged 3 wickets, off-spinner Lotra took 2 wickets, while Lone Nasir Muzaffar, Abid Mushtaq, Shubham Singh Pundir and Musaif Ajaz claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu and Kashmir were 121/3 in 34 overs at the draw of stumps on day-2. Skipper Shubham Singh Pundir was unbeaten on 25 off 70 balls with 3 boundaries, while wicketkeeper Kanhaiya Wadhawan was at the crease on 31 off 48 balls, studded with 5 fours.
Earlier, Arya Thakur scored brisk 38 off 33 balls with 8 boundaries and Musaif Ajaz contributed 23 off 50 balls including 3 fours.
For Bengal, Mohammad Kaif bagged 2 wickets, while Arka Sarkar claimed one wicket.
