Srinagar, June 1: In a major jolt to the ‘rebel’ football organisation National and International Footballers Forum (NIFF) its senior most office bearer Abdul Hamid Banday has tendered his resignation from the body.

NIFF that came into existence in 2019 has been projected as football welfare body that has been highlighting tye wrong doings of J&K Football Association (JKFA).

Hamid Banday who is former Executive President of J&K Bank and Chairman J&K Bank Sports Board joined this faction in the same year after resigning from JKFA where he was Vice President.

As per sources Banday has sent his resignation to NIFF over his reservation on several issues .

Sources said that Banday raised those issues in the recent meeting of NIFF held in Srinagar hotel which was also attended by Chairman NIFF Bashir Ahmad Malik .

“Hamid Banday was not happy with various decisions taken by NIFF. He was also unhappy with working of NIF wherein not everyone in the body was being kept in loop while taking important decisions . He made his reservations clear in the meeting . Soon after the meeting he sent his resignation on the official whatsapp group of NIFF,” said a source .

Sources further said that NIFF has called in another meeting of the body on Wednesday in which latest development is to be discussed .

“Banday sahab is very important member of NIFF. He may be unhappy but we can’t allow him to leave . We will try to adress those issues and his greiviences. At this point his resignation is yet to be accepted , ” said a official of NIFF on condition of anonymity .

Meanwhile the two football rival bodies NIFF and JKFA have held several rounds of meeting to sort of differences recently .
