Srinagar: After suffering rough patch in a recent past, Parvez Rasool jumped back into form with both bat and bowl to put J&K on driver’s seat on the first of the Ranji trophy match against Goa at Surat on Thursday.

On the eventful day in which 15 wickets fell, Parvez Rasool shined with both bat and bowl to put J&K in a position to win this match. Batting first after winning the toss , J&K were all out for 227 runs. In reply Goa were reduced to 43 for 5 as Ram Dayal and Parvez Rasool shared two wickets each. Umer Nazir picked one.

Earlier J&K top three wickets got out with JK score on only 20 runs. Shubam Khajuria scored 5, Adil Reshi three and Mithun Manhas got out for naught. The inning was then stabilized by Ian Dev Singh and Parvez Rasool.  Ian Dev was at its best in holding the one end while Parvez went on offensive. Parvez and Ian took J&K total to 143 runs.

Parvez got out after scoring 82 runs off 83 deliveries getting out to Shadab Jakati. The inning included 13 fours and 2 sixes. Bandeep Singh was next to fall after scoring 10 runs then ian Dev fell after scoring 67 runs.

Puneet Bisht along with Ram Dayal took JK total past 200 run mark. Ram Dayal got out after scoring 9 runs and then Samiullah got out without troubling score. Puneet Bisht was 9th wicket J&K wicket to fall after scoring 40 crucial runs. Umer Nazir was last wicket of JK inning to fall. The last three wickets of J&K inning were able to add only 10 runs. Amir Aziz remained not out on one run. For Goa Jakati took four wickets while as Amit yadav took three.

In reply, Goa were struggling on 43 for the loss of five wickets. Ram Dayal and Parvez Rasool took two wickets each. Umer Nazir chipped in with one wicket.
