Kashmir athlete of Srinagar, Ehtisham Khan has represented India in the 42nd World Youth Rally-2017 held at Seoul, South Korea.
The event was held from July 19 to 23 and was organized by Hostelling International, Korea. Ehtisham participated in the event through Youth Hostels Association of India. According to Ehtisham who hails from Hyderpora area of Srinagar, he is the first athlete from J&K to take part in the annual event.
It was dream to take part in any sports event at World level. Previously I missed couple of chances to participate in International events. This time I made it sure to take part in this event. I represented India through the Youth Hostels Association of India at the 42nd World Youth Rally-2017 held at Seoul in South Korea that was organised by the Hostelling International, Korea. This is for the first time that a youth from the state has participated in the event, Ehtisham said.
Ehtisham has been involved with sports from early age and has taken part in various athletic, skiing and adventure activities over the years.
I am into adventure sports from class 3, when I went for my first snow Skiing course. And then made my place in the national team in 2010, and competed in my first national championship and till date I have completed in six national championships including a league, held within and outside J&K,as captain for teams like JK, Delhi, UP and Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IIS&M), he said.
