Srinagar, August 14: England Cricket Board (ECB) Friday confirmed the earlier postponed limited-overs series against Australia with first match scheduled to take place on September 4.

Scheduled for July, the series was postponed due to coronavirus outbreak. With things settling down a bit, the two boards finally agreed to go ahead with this white-ball cricket contest.

The series begins with three T20Is to be played in Southampton on 4, 6 and 8 September, while the ODIs are going to take place at Manchester on September 11, 14 and 16.

The ECB statement in this regard, quoted CEO Tom Harrison stating: “We owe a significant debt of gratitude to the players, staff and administrators of Cricket Australia for their efforts in getting this tour underway.”

“Their co-operation to ensure these matches are staged is crucial to cricket in this country. It will also provide much-needed financial aid at all levels of cricket in England and Wales as we work through the challenges in front of us.”
