Srinagar, July 28: Batsman Fawad Alam, pacer Wahab Riaz and former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed were included as Pakistan on Monday announced the 20-member squad for the Test series against hosts England.
Pakistan that has been in England for over a month now have been busy playing practice matches ahead of the Test series. The final day of the second four day match was on Monday away due to rain. The test series against England start on August 5.
Following the conclusion of two four-day intra-squad matches, head coach-cum-chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq and his team comprised of batting coach Younis Khan, bowling coach Waqar Younis and spin bowling coach Mushtaq Ahmed finalized 20 players for England Tests.
Squad: Azhar Ali (captain), Babar Azam (vice-captain), Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Faheem Ashraf, Fawad Alam, Imam ul Haq, Imran Khan Snr, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Sohail Khan, Usman Shinwari, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah.
Meanwhile, the remaining nine players – Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Hasnain and Musa Khan – will continue to train with the squad for the T20I series, which will be played at the backend of the Test series.
