The ski trainers of the Burn Hall Higher Secondary School and Biscoe School Feroz Khan and Mehraj Dar participated in the level one course of Avalanche training.
The training course was conducted by Canadian Avalanche Skill Training Association under coaching and guidance of Adam West from Australia at Gulmarg.
In the course, avalanche survival statistics, the avalanche triangle, terrain consideration, meteorological factors, snowpack structure and snow metamorphism, decision making and the human factor in avalanche accidents, stability observations, snow stability testing, reporting and recording pit and test results, travel were the topics covered.
After taking part in the level one course both ski trainers are eyeing to qualify advance level course in coming time.
Both were sponsored by Burn Hall and Biscoe Schools respectively.
