Srinagar, November 11: A first of its kind two-day cricket match, organised locally, kick-started between Mallabagh Strikers and Warriors on Wednesday at Mallabagh Cricket Ground, here.

Warrios, replying to Sultans’ first innings total of 242 runs, were 3 down on 125 runs at day one.

Earlier, after finding luck in the coin-toss, Sultans asked Warriors to bat first, aiming to make most of the morning conditions.

However, Warriors batsmen responded well. They showed patience at the middle, making 242 runs before they were bundled out. Jamsheed Naseem top-scored with 44 off 47 balls while Musa Benazir and Zahid Bashir also made 44 and 42 runs, respectively.

For bowling side, Rayees and Saleem shared six wickets amongst themselves.

In reply, Sultans looked strong before they lost a few quick wickets. They finished the day on 125/3 with Arshid and Asif scoring 56 and 44, respectively. For Warrios, Abid Baba scalped a brace of wickets.
